Yooani

Yooani is my favorite non-Eastern artist.  Really and truly, I love Yooani’s artwork.  I mentioned Yooani before in my Halloween post, but I recently decided the artist needed a post of her own.  I think I first found Yooani through herArancia artwork (which I used in my own Arancia post).

But I soon decided I liked Blanche and Noir better.  Yooani can depict both creative and more basic designs well.  Maybe it’s something like, “give me the design and I’ll draw it”?  I don’t know, but I do love watching the result.  Noir and Blanche are originals of another artist, but the fashion and design of this work is still a testament to Yooani’s skill.  As a sidenote, I love their tattoos.

Mikansei No.1 / 未完成No.1

A manga by Majiko!.  I found the series to be cute and fun but also very rushed.

The story begins with Neo Takagawa’s performance recital, to which people do not care to listen.  Instead they point, gawk, and generally make fun of her short skirt, which she cut herself.  This made me chuckle, as the skirt was no shorter than what you generally see in manga.  However, the next couple of pages answered the question of why they thought it was so odd.

Harano / 原之

Harano is one of those artists whose artstyle never seems to change.  The back page of their pixiv account is almost as nice as their front page, though not quite.  From the middle and onward, however, it’s consistent.  Maybe their style will continue to improve but slowly.

I will admit, however, that the faces have become a lot less square and more proportional in size to their bodies as time has passed.  The eyes have found a better place to rest in the face as well.  Maybe I shouldn’t have written the first paragraph.  orz

The artist is one that I love both for original characters and designs as well as their copyright works.  Which are mainly Persona 3 related.   I haven’t played the game yet, but this artist did get me interested in looking at it.  I’m currently enjoying Persona 4 instead, though I wonder if I’ll ever beat it at the rate I’ve been playing.

Niito / にぃと

I’ve known of this artist for quite some time now, and I can’t help but smile every time I open up their pixiv account.  Why would I smile?  Because they actually have a first page that’s not filled with Vocaloid or Touhou images and has good quality art.  Yay!

Anyway, the thumbnail’s full version looks much better than the thumbnail itself, which GIMP decided it really didn’t wish to be kind to, and I decided I didn’t feel like dealing with.
